چکیده
Friendship networks are instrumental to a whole range of outcomes including career success and personal wellbeing, as such it is important ask how social shaped by personality variables. However, previous research examining extraversion associated with network size closeness members has produced inconsistent findings. Here, we assessed (HEXACO model) was three key features advice (size, density, emotional members) in sample 199 participants (17–75 years, M = 25, SD 11; 146 women). We found that higher levels (and its four facets: self-esteem, boldness, sociability, liveliness) corresponded significantly larger network, but not greater or members. The manifestation here seems be operationalised terms number interactive partners, no increased probability ensuring contacts connected each other, developing emotionally deep relationships contacts.

Use of Social Network Sites and Instant Messaging Does Not Lead to Increased Offline Social Network Size, or to Emotionally Closer Relationships with Offline Network Members
The effect of Internet use on social relationships is still a matter of intense debate. This study examined the relationships between use of social media (instant messaging and social network sites), network size, and emotional closeness in a sample of 117 individuals aged 18 to 63 years old. Time spent using social media was associated with a larger number of online social network "friends." H...

Using the emergent friendship network of an incoming cohort of students in an M.B.A. program, we examined the role of extraversion in shaping social networks. Extraversion has two important implications for the emergence of network ties: a popularity effect, in which extraverts accumulate more friends than introverts do, and a homophily effect, in which the more similar are two people's levels ...

Recent studies have been using graph theoretical approaches to model complex networks (such as social, infrastructural or biological networks), and how their hardwired circuitry relates to their dynamic evolution in time. Understanding how configuration reflects on the coupled behavior in a system of dynamic nodes can be of great importance, for example in the context of how the brain connectom...
متن کاملUncharted but not Uninfluenced: Influence Maximization with an Uncertain Network
This paper focuses on new challenges in influence maximization inspired by non-profits’ use of social networks to effect behavioral change in their target populations. Influence maximization is a multiagent problem where the challenge is to select the most influential agents from a population connected by a social network. Specifically, our work is motivated by the problem of spreading messages...
